2020

I learned about Vote Forward from one of my favorite rescue dog/owner’s Instagram accounts. I decided to sign up and write 20 letters to registered voters from under-represented demographics and send 200 postcards to voters in swing states, reminding them to vote on November 3rd.

With the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I am even more motivated to act and share these opportunities with others. These are just a few ways to volunteer, with varying levels of involvement:

  • Mail a short message to registered voters with Vote Forward
  • Call inconsistent Democratic voters and swing voters across the country to boost voter turnout with Turnout2020
  • Join the text banking team of Three States One Mission to text voters in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
  • Apply to be a poll worker on election day with Power the Polls. Specific details about applications, qualifications, training, compensation, and providing PPE (personal protective equipment) will vary by jurisdiction.

“Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”

Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Here is the squad of dog accounts that encouraged me to volunteer 🙂
